Flufflin and the Shooting Star is the first book in the planned World of Flufflin series - a poetic story for children, with an important message for adults.
Flufflin is a magical creature who can see people’s dreams, but he does not yet understand what to do with his unusual gift, or how it could be useful in the world.
At its heart, the book is about self-belief, quiet talents, and the importance of noticing what makes us feel most alive. Through Flufflin’s journey, the story gently asks: what if the things we are naturally drawn to - the things that make time disappear - are not random at all, but clues to something essential within us?
The book introduces the emotional and philosophical heart of Flufflin’s world: a place of wonder, dreams, sensitivity, courage, and self-discovery.

The Chandelier of Dreams began as a prototype installation within the Brighton Fringe production, created from hundreds of illustrated dreams gathered from children. Plans are now forming to develop it into a larger immersive installation for a public space.
How Chandelier of Dreams Prototype came into existence
How Chandelier of Dreams was made
Flufflin has grown through creative workshops with children, exploring dreams, imagination, hidden talents and the things that make time disappear. Many of the children’s illustrated dreams became part of the show’s visual world.
One of the most beautiful discoveries of the workshops was that when children are encouraged to notice their own gifts, they also begin to develop the language for noticing what is special in one another. When the exercise was turned outwards and children were invited to recognise the hidden talents, dreams, and qualities of their friends, it became a deeply meaningful act of connection. They listened more closely, saw each other more generously, and experienced the quiet joy of being truly noticed.
In this way, the workshops became not only a space for self-discovery, but also a gentle lesson in friendship: that the gift of being seen - and learning how to see others - is at the heart of lasting, meaningful connection.
The Flufflin Question Prompts extend the heart of the story beyond the page and stage, inviting children, families, and adults to reflect on dreams, talents, self-belief, imagination, and the things that make time disappear.
Designed for use after reading the book or watching the show, they can be printed and shared at home, in classrooms, or in creative workshops - helping parents remember what they loved doing when they were young, and helping children notice the gifts, dreams, and activities that light them up from within.
The costumes, props, birds, shadow pieces, and paper details are handmade, forming the tactile material language of the World of Flufflin. At the centre of this visual world is the handmade Chandelier of Dreams - an exquisite installation of children’s illustrated dreams, suspended like fragments of imagination, memory, and light. Paper, fabric, texture, photography, projection, and movement come together to create an atmosphere that feels fragile, dreamlike, and alive - a world that appears to have stepped out of the book and into the room.

And more here
The World of Flufflin extends into books, cards, prints, prompts, costume packs, party sets, and small handmade objects - each carrying the atmosphere and message of the story into everyday life.
Flufflin book readings have often been accompanied by full dress-up, shadow play, projections, bubbles, and flying moons above the children’s heads. The costume packs and party sets have been especially loved for birthdays and themed celebrations, creating rooms full of little Flufflins and Shooting Stars - a living, playful extension of the story’s magic.
